i think i have tonsillitis. i was supposed to pay a visit to the doctor but i ran out of time today. now, i have dry cough. oh well.

sophomore-ish

Clothing Technology. So much ahead! It's a little overwhelming, especially with my throat threatening me with the possibility of tonsillitis. I don't have fever yet, but I do find it difficult to swallow.

I have three classes for this semester:

CT 11 - Introduction to design
CT 117 - Pattern making
CT 124 - Apparel accessories

I'm looking forward to exploring new horizons and creating new things this semester ^_^

photocopy

I prefer drawing dresses and gowns than any other type of clothing, but I'd rather sew than draw. Art is not in my genes. I can appreciate them, but if I have to turn a 3D thing that I see into something 2D on paper, I always have a hard time. I still have a lot to improve on so I tried painting illustrations of pictures* that I find on the web.

I love the flowers on the first dress. Maybe in the future, I could sew something with the same silhouette.

happiness

we do things because they make us happy. does this also mean we should stop doing things when we don't feel satisfaction? part of being mature is being able to commit to our responsibilities even if it is not what we want. if we are mature, we make goals and accomplish our goals.

i need to grow up. i need to start making lists that get shorter, not longer ^_^ i need to be more producting. it's time to carry my butt off my bed and force myself to create something new. yeah!

sleepy posting

this is my version of drunk posting but instead of being drunk, lowered inhibitions is caused by the lack of sleep, or inability to sleep, aka insomnia. i used to do this before i go up to my room, when i'm in front of my laptop. now, thanks to advances to technology, i am actually on my smart phone, typing on an app that i just downloaded. horay for android!

so i want to post something since i'm already here. this is an illustration that i submitted for a 'decades of fashion' plate. this is supposed to have been inspired be 30's fashion. maybe i'll take another shot at this some other day. i could try to make illustrations for all decades. hmm... that could be a great summer goal. yeah, i'm too sleepy to make life decisions. i'll think about it again tomorrow. for now, i sleep.

college get-up

I don't usually draw clothes that reflect what I wear. I normally wear wide legged pants with colorful prints. I realized that whenever I draw my pants, I couldn't capture the general feel of the bohemian, ethnic look that I carry. My illustrations usually show what I see, instead of what I wear. So, here's my interpretation of college fashion.

jellyfish gowns

One of our design plates in our apparel design class is about mutations. We were asked to apply different textures to the regular fashion figure. I decided to use the jellyfish for the bottom half of the body, a woven rattan torso and a dream catcher face.

I took our plate as inspiration for a formal wear collection. Their skirts look like jelly fishies, right? ^_^

I used to hate jellyfish. I was so afraid of them when I was young. Now, I don't hate them as much. I realized that they look very much like gelatin. And I love gelatin!

earrings

Performing in front of a large crowd without earrings is like leaving your house without shorts on.

I love making earrings :)
